Meet the Team

Neurological Physiotherapy is a team of highly specialised therapists who are passionate in ensuring you receive the best possible treatment and support for your condition to optimise your potential.

All our therapists are experienced in providing inpatient, outpatient, and community rehabilitation, working using a person-centred approach as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Management Team

Claire Laverty

Physiotherapy Director

Claire has specialised in Neurology since 1989 leading her to open Neurological Physiotherapy in 1993. Claire focuses on the development of services at Neurological Physiotherapy and leads a Neuro Medico Legal service.

Megan Knowles-Eade

Physiotherapy Manager

Megan has developed a keen interest in treating acquired brain injury and Stroke. She oversees spasticity management in our inpatient settings. She has additional qualifications in British Sign Language, Pilates, Splinting and Reflexology. She provides clinical management for our team and supports the development of services at Neurological Physiotherapy.

Carla Horricks

Physiotherapy Manager

Carla works with complex neurological and musculo-skeletal conditions. Carla has a special interest in headache and migraine, vestibular dysfunction, and spinal conditions. She is qualified in the treatment of acupuncture and is a Pilates teacher. She provides clinical management for our team and supports the development of services at Neurological Physiotherapy.

Anna Brown

Practice Manager

Anna manages our different outpatient and rehabilitation unit services, including the Case Management service and Neuro Medico Legal service. She is responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures, financial management and supports service development at Neurological Physiotherapy.

Administrative Team

Nicola Giles

Administrative Lead

With several years’ experience in customer service roles Nicola has taken over responsibility for the day to day running of our outpatient clinic, and manages our social media and invoicing for Neurological Physiotherapy.

Laura Pattison

Administrator

Having worked previously in health settings, Laura is responsible for our reception, being a first point of contact for our patients and new referrals. She manages our programme of physio-led exercise classes and provides administrative support with our HR, health and safety and training responsibilities.

Therapy Team

Ross Bailey

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Inpatient Rehabilitation

Ross has developed an interest in the role of balance and vestibular rehabilitation in neurological treatment and is specialised in treating PD and Acquired Brain Injury. He is qualified as a PD Warrior tutor.

Karen Belfield

Advanced Physiotherapist

Karen has a special interest in vestibular presentations and treating people with PD but is highly experienced in treating a range of neurological conditions. She is advanced Bobath trained and can deliver acupuncture therapy. She has additional qualifications in Pilates and is a PD Warrior tutor.

Claire Cooke

Advanced Physiotherapist

Claire has developed a clinical interest in neuro rehabilitation, working as a team lead in for the NHS, as well as with Neurological Physiotherapy. She has additional experience in respiratory care and rehabilitation, and is Bobath trained.

Ryan Davies

Experienced Physiotherapist

Ryan has experience in working with a variety of individuals with complex neurological conditions and assists in the management of our rehabilitation unit services. He is working towards his introductory Bobath qualification. He has a Level 3 Sports Massage Diploma.

Becki Faulkner

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in FES

Becki heads up our Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) service in the clinic and rehabilitation units, treating the upper and lower limb. Becki has a particular interest in treating spasticity and Stroke and has experience working with complex neurological presentations.

Dom Gandy

Experienced Physiotherapist

Dom treats both neurological and musculoskeletal presentations, with an interest in sport injuries, Stroke and Ataxia. He is presently working towards his introductory Bobath qualification. He supports the management of our rehabilitation unit services.

Adrian Howard

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Musculoskeletal presentations

Adrian joined Neurological Physiotherapy to provide clinical expertise on Musculoskeletal presentations. He offers holistic assessment and treatment for complex MSK conditions and additionally can provide SOMM injection therapy and is a physiotherapy independent prescriber.

Steph Ingham

Senior Experienced Physiotherapist

Steph has developed a particular interest in how improved health and fitness can supplement physiotherapy interventions and was instrumental in developing the exercise programmes we run at Neurological Physiotherapy. Steph additionally has a special interest in Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation. She manages our rehabilitation unit services.

Joe Laverty

Senior Experienced Physiotherapist

Joe has conducted research into myofascial release on headache and migraine symptoms. He treats complex neurological presentations and retains a special interest in treating the neck and lower back pain. In addition, Joe can provide acupuncture therapy and Sports massage. He manages our rehabilitation unit services.

Ceri-lynne Morton

Advanced Physiotherapist

Ceri-lynne has extensive experience of neurological rehabilitation in both the acute and community setting and is involved in the teaching and development of more recently qualified physiotherapists. Ceri-Lynne has a special interest in MS, Ataxia, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Kellie Pike

Advanced Physiotherapist

Kellie has worked in acute and community settings developing a special interest in Stroke and treatment of the upper limb. Kellie is Bobath trained and is particularly interested in a holistic approach to individual care, considering how breathwork and exercise can support physiotherapy techniques.

Rebecca Salt

Advanced Physiotherapist

Rebecca is advanced Bobath trained with a particular interest in treatment of the upper limb post Stroke, sensory feedback and motor planning, and vestibular presentations. She is qualified in Constraint Induced Therapy. Rebecca supports the clinical development of our physiotherapy assistants and students on placement.

Shirley Steele

Advanced Physiotherapist

Shirley enjoys treating individuals with complex neurological conditions, with a keen interest in treating Stroke, particularly upper limb recovery, and MS individuals, implementing myofascial release techniques where appropriate. Shirley is trained as a craniosacral therapist and has more recently completed a Yoga Foundation course.

Bram Tynan

Advanced Rehabilitation Unit Manager and Physiotherapist

Bram has developed a keen interest in treating individuals following brain injury. He is Bobath trained and has completed several professional development courses focusing on myofascial release and functional rehabilitation in neurology. Bram has a senior role in the management of our rehabilitation unit services.

Wendy Walker

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Facial Rehabilitation

Wendy specialises in the treatment of facial palsy. Wendy delivers lectures and workshops on various aspects of neurological physiotherapy, including treatment of facial palsy, vestibular rehabilitation, trophic electrical stimulation, and EMG biofeedback. She contributes widely to the knowledge base for Physiopedia.

Abbie Ward

Physiotherapist

Abbie is specialising in working with complex brain injury and stroke presentations, both on land and delivering hydrotherapy sessions. She has previously worked treating MSK sport injuries. She has additional training in sports massage, taping and acupuncture. Abbie predominately supports our services in rehabilitation units.

Experienced Physiotherapy Assistants

We have a small team of Experienced Physiotherapy Assistants who have completed additional training to support our physiotherapists in assessment, treatment and goal setting for patients with neurological conditions. They are all experience working in inpatient and community settings and support the delivery of our hydrotherapy services.
